Wally Weir is a retired Canadian ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Montreal Canadiens, St. Louis Blues, and New York Rangers. He was born on June 3, 1954 in Verdun, Quebec, Canada. Weir was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1974 NHL Amateur Draft, and made his NHL debut with the Canadiens during the 1975–76 season. He played in the NHL for 11 seasons, and was a member of the 1979 Stanley Cup champion Montreal Canadiens. He retired from professional hockey in 1986. Weir was known for his physical style of play, and was considered one of the toughest players in the NHL. He was also known for his leadership and was named an alternate captain of the Canadiens during the 1979–80 season. Weir is currently the president of the Montreal Canadiens Alumni Association. He is also a member of the Quebec Sports Hall of Fame. As of 2021, Wally Weir's net worth is estimated to be roughly $2 million.
