Maud Gage Baum was an American producer, writer, and suffragist. She was the wife of L. Frank Baum, the author of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. She was born in Fayetteville, New York, on March 27, 1861. She was the daughter of Matilda Joslyn Gage, a prominent suffragist, and Henry Gage, a lawyer. Maud Gage Baum was an active suffragist and was involved in the National American Woman Suffrage Association. She was also a member of the Women's Political Union and the National Women's Party. Maud Gage Baum was a producer and writer. She wrote the screenplay for the 1914 film adaptation of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. She also wrote the screenplay for the 1925 film adaptation of The Wizard of Oz. Maud Gage Baum died on August 6, 1953, in Hollywood, California. She was 92 years old.
