He was an actor and director, known for his roles in films such as O Cangaceiro (1953), O Homem do Sputnik (1959) and O Homem que Virou Suco (1964). He began his career in the theater in the 1930s, and in the 1940s he began to appear in films. He was a regular in the films of the Cinema Novo movement, and was also a director of several films. He was married to actress and singer Elza Gomes, with whom he had two children. He died on 28 April 2021, at the age of 107. Léo Albano had an estimated net worth of $1 million.
